frog at Frontiers of Interaction '11

In the age of information overload and data glut, where Americans consume about 1.3 trillion hours worth of data on a yearly basis, it is crucial for the field of interaction design to evolve. The Frontiers of Interaction conference in Italy has become the Mecca for interaction designers to converge and explore the latest trends and challenges in their field. The event serves as an inspirational hub for thinkers and doers alike and brings together innovators, academics, early adopters and loyal geeks.

frog Fellow Luke Williams will share his insights on the unpredictable future of the disruptive age on June 21st. Luke’s talk, “Disruptive Design: Improbable Insights and Counterintuitive Ideas" will explore how to use a disruptive approach to design (or redesign) your business, your community, or your life in order to create value in a world of accelerated innovation.

Executive Creative Director Fabio Sergio and Creative Director Thomas Sutton will host an all day workshop focused on how to improve the eHealth ecosystem. Although many mHealth solutions are targeted at helping patients manage their disease, most do not consider user’s needs or how to leverage their motivations to transform their behavior. The workshop will explore how to move the focus from curing to caring and how to move from managing chronic diseases to preventing them. It will also explain how to turn mHealth solutions into meaningful, life-changing experiences by leveraging gaming mechanics, behavior change theories and people’s social networks.
