This week, we’re attending the TED2010 conference in Long Beach, the main event of the TED community. Under the theme “What the World Needs Now” the conference will gather 1,000 attendees and an impressive line-up of speakers, including David Byrne, Bill Gates, Sarah Silverman, and David Rockwell, among many others. Check back here for our thoughts and observations as the week unfolds.
And just to put our relationship with TED in context, frog will be a sponsor again of TEDGlobal, the twin conference in Oxford, UK. Like last year, frog will produce the official TEDGlobal program guide and a special edition of the design mind magazine, fully devoted to the conference theme, which this year will be “And Now the Good News.” As a warm-up for the Oxford conference, frog and TED will co-host a special TED Salon (a smaller, more intimate event featuring five or six TED Talks) in London on April 19.
frog will also continue to contribute to the TEDx franchise. After developing a matchmaking iPhone app for TEDx Amsterdam last Fall, frog Chief Creative Officer Mark Rolston will speak at TEDx Austin (“Play Big”) on February 20.
