And Now the Good News

The frog team just arrived in Oxford, England, and we’re sitting in our charmingly Spartan dorm rooms at Keble College, awaiting a spectacular TEDGlobal conference.
TEDGlobal is the twin conference of TED, one of the world’s most renowned gatherings of leading thinkers and doers. TEDGlobal 2009 is titled “The Substance of Things Not Seen” and will feature more than 50 speakers and 700 attendees from July 21-24 at the Oxford Playhouse.
TEDGlobal will start with some pre-conference activities on Monday. Among others, these will feature the so-called TED University, a half-day session of four-minute talks. The official program will kick off on Tuesday, and you can view the full schedule here.
Besides this blog, you can follow TEDGlobal via the frog feed and the TED feed on Twitter (#TED).
In Oxford, frog debuts as official partner of TED, and we’re thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to this unique community. In addition to producing the program guide, we are documenting the TEDGlobal talks as well as gathering behind-the-scenes stories – the “Things Not Seen” – for a special edition of our design mind magazine, devoted exclusively to TEDGlobal. It will contain art and essays around the conference theme as well as new content based on fresh impressions from the conference. Our goal is to turn the ideas presented at TEDGlobal into visually rich content that extends the conversation beyond the event. The magazine will be distributed in September to all TEDGlobal attendees. It will also be available in select bookstores and online.
