My last post was inspired by Mad Men, but it's pure coincidence that I'm now also posting this great little video produced by storied brand firm Landor in the 1960's to educate about the design process. It focuses on a bottle/decanter for Old Fitzgerald whiskey, and shows all the steps from concept through to model making to market testing, all narrated by Walter Landor himself.

Inventing behaviors, needs and perceptions

Picking up on my colleagues Robert Fabricant and Jon Kolko talking about the recent IxDA conference, I thought I'd add a few thoughts. I didn't attend the conference, but their posts about behavior and its place in interaction design struck a chord with me.

Robert's argument is that the true medium of interaction designers is not technology, but behaviors.
